"Cat Away" Spray

"Cat Away" Spray is an aromatherapy-based cat repellent spray product that protects your furniture from cat scratches by a natural cat deterrent!

"Cat Away" Spray is a combination of three essential oils that cats do not like, therefore acting as a natural repellent to them and providing furniture protection. Just a few sprays on the place where they love to claw will stop them cold! You can use "Cat Away" spray on your furniture, rugs, draperies, or wherever you want your cat to avoid (please see below for information on fabrics, leathers, dyes). Protect your furniture without resorting to those ugly plastic furniture strips!

Additional tips on using Cat Away:

Cat Away is proven to be effective in stopping your cat from scratching your furniture to pieces.

The time frame for stopping the behavior varies with each cat. It may stop after the first spray or continue through weeks or even months of training, depending on the personality of your cat. Eventually, your cat will give up and stop trying to scratch your furniture as he/she gets used to avoiding the Cat Away aroma.

Here is a good regimen for the persistent cat: After the first few days of spraying 2-3 times per day, work on stringing out the time between spraying, as you want your cat to get used to avoiding the furniture even when the aroma is not there. It is all about the training. Start with spraying Cat Away 2-3 times a day on the spot(s) you want your cat to avoid. After you see that the cat is no longer scratching in those areas, spray every other day. If there is no scratching for 5 days, spray one time a day every other day. If no scratching, spray one time a day every 3 days. Continue on in this manner, waiting 5 days between lowering the amount of spray used until you feel confident that your cat's scratching behavior has stopped. If the behavior starts again, immediately start the regimen of spraying.

If there are more than two areas, start by training on two of the areas, then once your cat is avoiding those areas, move on to two more areas.

Regarding the use of Cat Away around babies:

Under 3 months, babies are very sensitive to essential oils and their aromas. I recommend spraying Cat Away when the babies will be outside of the room 30 minutes after spraying. By that time, the aromas will dissipate sufficiently.

Cat Away is a 1% concentration of active ingredients including mainly citrus monoterpenes, (which dissipate quickly). Cats also have sensitive metabolic systems, so Cat Away is formulated to be gentle. However, cats have the innate ability to leave the area where the aroma occurs as long as a door is open for their escape, while you have to physically monitor the location of your babies. 😉 After three months, their systems will develop enough that your baby could be in the room while spraying if necessary if the cat(s) is not yet trained.

Regarding furniture fabrics, leathers, and dyes:

There are no harsh chemicals or dyes in Cat Away, only distilled water, a tiny bit of saponified coconut oil to bind the essential oils and three essential oils. Essential oils do not have any color to them and are not vegetable based like canola, so will not leave any oily residue on your furniture.

Due to the many variations in fabrics, leathers, and dyes, I recommend you test an inconspicuous spot first, as with any product you spray on your furniture. Due to these inherent variations, Wonderful Aroma cannot be responsible for any change where this product has been used. A list of directions is supplied with the product.

Here are some ways to check Cat Away with your furniture:

Wipe a little "Cat Away" Spray on your fabric using a cotton ball or swab so that you just get a small area, as opposed to spraying. An area that gets the sun on it during the day and is inconspicuous would be best. Let it set for 24-48 hours, if no discoloration or deterioration occurs, great, you should be good to go. If you are still concerned, try it a second time using a larger area, maybe spraying this time, just to be sure.

Alternatively, you could spray it on a towel and put the towel on the area where you want the cat to avoid. It is the aroma that repels the cat; and is not activated by their scratching, which is why you need to reapply often until they avoid the area altogether.

Personally, I have a dark purple rug where I have used it several times with no discoloration, and it is in the sun for several hours a day.

"I sprayed this on my furniture corners last evening; not only has the cat not scratched at them but the smell is delightful! Love this product!" Mindy H., 2/2018

"Is this stuff magic? My 4 year old cat has ripped the arms of my couch, carpet, and mattress by scratching. I applied Cat Away by misting 2 sprays per area and the scratching IMMEDIATELY stopped. I am still in disbelief. This is a must for cat owners." Kelly K 12/2016

"So far, this is working amazingly well! My cat actually ran out of the room the first time I used it, lol. I think it smells terrific, but apparently, he does not agree. He tends to use the arms of my sofa and love seat to stretch, which means he holds on with his claws and puts little pulls in the fabric, but he literally has not done this once since I got the spray. I just bought new furniture and didn't want it to get ruined, which is why I decided to try this. In case anyone is curious, it does not stain - my new sofas are white and this doesn't leave a mark at all. Fantastic product! I am going to bring it with me when I visit my parents since I take my cat there for vacations as well. I would recommend it to anyone." Lauren CT,8/2016

"Quick shipping. I have used it about a week now, although I haven't been good about applying it twice daily, I have seen a significant decrease in the cats using my couch arm as their clawing post! It smells good, but the cats don't like it. I would recommend to others to try it." Donna B., 5/2016

"luv the cat spray...thx for tip on shaking--I use it in my convertible top and area rugs mostly and don't have to repeat often" Carolin P., 6/2015

"My kitty has almost completely stopped scratching the couch I was having a problem with!" Lauren G., 4/2014

Shake the bottle vigorously to mix the oils well before spraying. Spray one to two times onto the area(s) you want your cat to avoid Alternatively, spray Cat Away onto a towel and leave the towel on the area if you are concerned that the spray might damage your furniture.

Full instructions also come with the package.

The Cat Away cat repellent spray tends to last a long time since it doesn't seem to take long for most cats to respond and start to avoid the area where you have sprayed the Cat Away right away.

Consistency is the key whenever we try to change behavior!

Please note that ALL essential oils are harmful to cats. DO NOT SPRAY ON CAT OR WHEN CAT IS IN THE AREA.

Due to their sensitive metabolic systems, Cat Away is formulated to be gentle. Always provide an escape route so your feline can leave the area where Cat Away is sprayed
Cat Away is a 1% solution that, if not sprayed directly on the cat should not be a problem and I have not had any issues in the four years I have been selling this product.

If the spray is used directly on the cat, it may cause symptoms of poisoning: vomiting, diarrhea, sluggishness, uncoordinated movement. Take your pet immediately to your veterinarian if any of these symptoms occur. Let him know that an essential oil product containing a 1% solution of limonene and pinene was sprayed directly on the cat.

Verdure Wellness is not responsible in any manner, for the health of your cat due to the use of Cat Away.

Shipping from United States

Most of my products are made to order, which is the reason for the 1-3 day shipping times. I will ship using your preferred USPS method (generally less expensive than UPS or FED EX for these products)! I weigh every product I send after packaging to be sure the weight calculation is correct. Etsy calculates the shipping costs automatically, and their costs are generally given to us at a discount from regular USPS rates. Rest assured, I will get your order out as soon as I can! If you need it faster, just specify that on your order and I will work hard to get it out even faster and shipped to meet your needs!

And, to be recycled minded, I often re-use boxes and clean packing materials received from purchases I make. So don't be surprised if you see an old label or reference to something other than your package on the box...while I try to cover everything not of importance, sometimes I miss things. But, I rarely have to purchase any packaging...good for the earth business!
